Kamikochi

Kamikochi is located in the Hida Mountain Range in the Japan Alps. This stunning alpine region, preserved in its natural state, is home to Mt. Hotadake and Mt. Yakedake, the latter of which is an active volcano, as well as several lakes. Vehicle access is blocked, and the area is part of Chubu Sangaku National Park, so it offers the rare opportunity to see some of Japan's beautiful natural scenery in its original, pristine state.
