Yudanaka

Yudanaka is a hot spring town located in the north of Nagano. The town is known for its ‘snow monkeys’, who come to the town to enjoy the warm hot spring water, especially during the cold winter months. Of course, the town also offers a number of beautiful hot spring locations for use by humans as well.

Shigakogen heights, close to Yudanaka, is a wonderful place for nature walks amidst the alpine plants, ponds and marshes. This area offers some great facilities for skiing and other winter sports as well.
