Independent Tours Our Independent Tours are for those who want guidance and the privacy of independent travel without the restrictions of traveling with a guide or a tour group. These tours can be taken at any time, and your lodging and train ticket reservations, as well as a suggested itinerary, will be prepared in advance. You will also receive information on Japanese culture, history and the places you will visit. Our meaningful, Independent Tours offer you the chance to experience Japanese culture firsthand.

Tokyo and Beyond Tour This tour will give you a taste of the old capital of Edo (now called Tokyo), as well as some sights from the ultra-modern capital of today. In addition, you will be able to experience the cultural diversity of the Kanto Region by visiting Nikko, Hakone and Kawagoe.

Shikoku Tour The Shikoku tour will let you experience the culture and sights of the smallest of Japan's four main islands. You will visit Takamatsu, Kotohira, and Matsuyama, seeing feudal castles, sacred temples and shrines, and old hot spring resorts. You will also get a chance to see the city of Kurashiki on the main island of Honshu, famous for its Bikan historical district.

Kyushu Hot Spring Tour Natural hot spring baths, or onsen, are fairly common in Japan, but Kyushu island is home of one of the best, Beppu. The Beppu Hatto is a set of 8 separate hot spring sources, each offering a different bathing experience. You will come to learn that nothing is better for refreshing your body and spirit than a long soak in a hot spring bath. Before arriving in Beppu you will visit Himeji, home of Japan's best preserved castle; Hiroshima, a city of peace and harmony; and Miyajima, one of the 3 most scenic spots in Japan. After Beppu and a day visit to Yufuin you will head to Kyoto, Japan's ancient imperial capital and the center of Japanese culture.

Classical Japan Tour The Classical Japan Self Guided tour will take you from the feudal castle of Himeji to the quiet old streets of Takayama and the rural village of Shirakawa-go before giving you plenty of time to wander the streets and alleyways of the ancient capital of Kyoto.

Rural Discovery Tour Discover a slower side of Japan and connect with your host family in Kameoka, just west of Kyoto. You will also have time to visit the ancient capital of Kyoto and the historic castle of Himeji.
