Please Read these Policies Carefully.
You Must Agree to All of our Policies Before Participating in any Tour.

How To Make A Reservation
To reserve a place on a Rediscover Travel Inc. (dba Japan Roads) tour you fill out, sign and mail us the completed Tour Registration Form. We require a non-refundable deposit of US $500 per participant, at least 60 days before the first day of the tour. The deposit can be paid with either a Check, Visa, MasterCard or PayPal. Your reservation is not made until your deposit has been received. Once we have received your deposit, we will send you a confirmation packet. Your final payment is due 45 days before the first day of the tour. In case of billing errors, we reserve the right to re-invoice with the correct pricing.

Tour Price Does Not Include
Airline Tickets; Federal Inspection Fees for the U.S. Customs and Immigration; International Air Transportation Tax; agricultural tax; Value Added Taxes, any other taxes; security fee; airport taxes and fees; foreign port taxes, passports; visas and vaccinations; telephone; porterage at airports; transportation expenses incurred during free times; insurance, items of personal nature such as laundry, wines, mini bar (or any other alcoholic beverages), mineral water, beverages, coffee, tea, food other than what is provided at the ryokans or hotels during included meals.

Currency Changes
All prices quoted are based on current exchange rates and are subject to change. If the U.S. dollar devalues by 5% from the local currency or more, Rediscover Travel Inc. reserves the right to increase prices accordingly. Rediscover Travel Inc. only accepts paymentd in US Dollars.

Tours Cancelled by Rediscover Travel Inc.
Rediscover Travel Inc. reserves the right to cancel for any reason, including but not limited to: acts of international terrorism, natural disasters, travel restrictions imposed by any government authority, and other unforeseen dire circumstances. In the unlikely event your tour is cancelled, the entire amount you have paid including your deposit to Rediscover Travel Inc. will be refunded to you after the tour has been cancelled. Once this occurs, Rediscover Travel Inc. and its representatives have no further obligations to its tour participants.

Cancellations and Refunds
Your deposit is non-refundable. All cancellations must be sent in writing or by e-mail, and will be effective upon acknowledgement by Rediscover Travel Inc. We will then send you an e-mail confirming your cancellation which you should keep as proof of cancellation. If you do not receive a cancellation notice from us, please make sure to contact Rediscover Travel Inc. again as your reservation has not been canceled. Your US $500 per participant deposit is non-refundable and thereafter the following fees apply:

Late Payment
If there is any outstanding balance by the Final Pay Due date listed on your invoice, Rediscover Travel Inc. reserves the right to immediately terminate and cancel all travel services. A service reinstatement fee of US $50 will be added to your invoice and must be paid in advance in order to apply for reconfirmation of services.

Returned Checks
There is a US $30 fee for returned checks.

Tour Itineraries
Tour itineraries are subject to change. We need to be flexible enough to take advantage of any changes in the Japan travel environment so we may provide you with the best possible tour. Occasionally, during holidays and certain periods, due to unforeseen circumstances the local Tour Operator and/or Hotel, (or similar accommodation such as Ryokans, Minshukus, Temples, Home Stays, etc.) may have to make last-minute changes, sometimes after arrival, in the sequence of the tour and/or hotels. Sometimes attractions close with no advanced warning. On dates including, but not limited to religious holidays and national celebrations, some monuments and sites may also be closed. We therefore reserve the right to adjust the sequence and/or substitute any accommodation or attraction with others of similar category. Also, due to changing weather conditions and other acts of nature, the local Tour Operator may have to make last-minute changes, sometimes after arrival. We therefore reserve the right to adjust the sequence and/or substitute any activity with others of similar category. In these cases, Rediscover Travel Inc. will make its best effort to replace that attraction with another suitable and comparable replacement. Uncompleted portions of the tour itinerary are not cause for refund.

Guest Information
Guests are responsible to ensure that Rediscover Travel Inc. has the correctly spelled name, address, email and fax data for all guests. Names printed on the invoice must exactly match the first and last name written in their passport (middle names or initials are not needed). Rediscover Travel Inc. will not be responsible for passengers who do not receive an invoice or documents due to inaccurate information. Any special requirements including special meals, or medical condition must be communicated to Rediscover Travel Inc. prior to being added to the tour. We will inform you if your request can or cannot be met at that time and any additional charges that maybe levied.

One Contact for Each Group
To avoid double bookings, please make sure there is only one person contacting Rediscover Travel Inc. If more than one person from a group starts contacting Rediscover Travel Inc., then this could lead to serious reservation errors. Only one contact per group please. Each Tour Contract is to be regarded as one contracted by or on behalf of the particular person named on it.

Group Harmony
To ensure the desired group harmony, Rediscover Travel Inc. reserves the right to accept, reject or expel any tour participant who is deemed disruptive or incompatible with the interests of the group. All expenses to do so will be borne by the individual. Rediscover Travel Inc. reserves the right to make changes in the itinerary whenever it deems it necessary for the comfort, convenience, or safety of the tour participants.

Travelers Who Need Special Assistance
Rediscover Travel Inc. will make reasonable attempts to accommodate the special needs of travelers, but it is not responsible in the event it is unable to do so, nor is it responsible for any denial of services by carriers, hotels, restaurants, or other independent suppliers. Be aware that outside the United States, facilities for disabled individuals are limited. We regret that we cannot provide individual physical assistance to a tour participant for walking, dining, getting on and off trains and other vehicles, or other personal needs. A qualified and physically able companion must accompany travelers who need such assistance. Any pre-existing physical (including allergies), mental, or emotional disability that may require attention or treatment must be reported in writing prior to the beginning of a tour. Each tour participant must complete and return our Medical Form, which is included in your confirmation packet. Failure to return a complete and accurate Medical Form could result in expulsion from the tour at your own expense.

Physically Demanding Tour
Rediscover Travel Inc. tours are physically demanding: You will be doing a lot of walking and standing during sight seeing. While your luggage will sometimes be shipping during the tour, you will also find yourself taking your luggage on the trains. Elevators and escalators can be hard to find, especially in the smaller train stations. Because public transportation is not always convenient, there may be times when you will have to walk up to 10 minutes with your luggage. Roller boards work fine in Japan, but there may be times when you will have to carry your luggage up and down stairs. Because of these reasons, only those who are in good health (no heart or back problems) should consider our tours. On our walking tours you may need to walk longer distances with your luggage and must have luggage that is suitable for hiking.

Young Travelers
Travelers less than 18 years old on the tour departure dates must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Also we are unable to accommodate children under 12 years old.

Smoking
Rediscover Travel Inc. will try to accommodate your request for a smoking or non-smoking room. However, Japan is the land of smokers and we cannot guarantee we will be able to accommodate your request.

Passports and Visas
You are responsible for obtaining your passport, and for meeting all health and other requirements required by Japanese laws, orders and/or requirements. You must consult with the appropriate consulates to determine if any visas or other conditions are needed. All travelers traveling internationally are required to have a passport. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your entry into Japan.

Acting Only as Agents
Rediscover Travel Inc. and its representatives abroad act only as agents for contractors providing the means of transportation, accommodations, and other services pertaining to the tour. All exchange orders, coupons, and tickets are issued subject to the terms and conditions under which such means of transportation, accommodations, and other services are offered or provided. The issuance and acceptance of such documents shall be deemed to be consent to the further conditions. Rediscover Travel Inc. and/or travel agent /tour operator shall not be in any way liable for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity in any vehicle, or through the act of default of any company, or person, engaged in conveying the passengers, or of any hotel proprietor, personnel, or any other person otherwise in connection therewith.

Not Held Responsible for Risks
Rediscover Travel Inc. and/or travel agent/tour operator shall not be held responsible for potential risks and hazards associated with travel to destinations included in this program /itinerary, where injury, delay, or unanticipated events may occur. The tour participant agrees that neither Rediscover Travel Inc. or its affiliates shall be liable for any damage, loss (including personal injury, death, and property loss) or expense occasioned by any act or omission of any supplier providing tour services. Rediscover Travel Inc. and/or its travel agents / tour operators shall be held harmless from any and all liability in connection with the foregoing.

Not Held Responsible for Loss, Additional Expenses
Rediscover Travel Inc. and/or its travel agents/tour operators cannot accept the responsibility for loss or additional expenses due to delay or changes in transportation schedule or other causes.

Legal Domicile
This agreement and the terms and conditions hereunder shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Michigan, in the United States of America. All participants agree to be bound by such laws and subject to the jurisdiction of the Michigan legal system.

Personal information will not be released to third parties except to further the purpose for which you provide the information, such as finding a suitable ryokan or minshuku. There are no other circumstances under which we will provide or sell personal information to third parties.

No Computer Tracking of Identifiable Information
Our computer is not set up to track, collect or distribute personal information about its visitors. It does recognize the home server of visitors, but not e-mail addresses. For example, we can tell which Internet Service Provider our visitors use, but not the names, addresses or other information about our visitors that would allow us to identify the particular visitors to our sites. This information is used only for internal purposes by Rediscover Travel Inc. In addition, our web sites track information about the visits to our web sites. For example, we compile statistics that show the daily number of visitors to our sites, the daily requests we receive for particular files on our web sites, and what countries those requests come from. These aggregated statistics are used internally to better provide services to the public and may also be provided to others, but again, the statistics contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather such information.
